Asozyne

Asozyne is a byproduct of Resynthesis.

It pollutes the air it inhabits, causing a slow loss of sanity, eventually evolving to fatal side effects in people exposed to it. The only way to get rid of it is to either lock it in an airtight environment, or dump it in the ocean, the latter being the easiest and most cost-efficient way.

Recent developments have actively encouraged dumping the toxic waste back into the Astral Sea where Residuum comes from.
