Resynthesis

Resynthesis is a process where Dragonfire Forges provide the heat to break down and separate the pure Residuum from the other bits of material, utilizing a magical reagent called Sethizol. This creates a toxic byproduct called Asozyne which pollutes the air it inhabits, causing a slow loss of sanity, eventually evolving to fatal side effects in people exposed to it. The only way to get rid of it is to either lock it in an airtight environment, or dump it in the ocean, the latter being the easiest and most cost-efficient way.
